Mary Jane Arrington
Osceola County Supervisor of Elections
2509 East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway
Kissimmee Florida 34744
Mrs. Arrington:
Casa Dominicana de Cultura rejects your derogatory questions made in a political survey against people born in Dominican Republic. Such questions are not only disrespectful, but also offensive to the many Dominican descents that Jive, work, and play in Osceola County.
Been born in Dominican Republic does not make anybody less American than anyone else, nor makes a person a second-class citizen. Dominicans in Osceola County, Central Florida, and in the entire US represent an integral part of the economic, social, and political progress in the community.
Just count the many businesses in our County that are owned and operated by Dominicans. We represent a great deal in revenue and economic development; We represent jobs and income for the many families in our community. In the political arena, we represent votes, the same votes that elected you to hold the Office of Supervisor of Elections.
More so, many of those Dominicans you have offended, made the ultimate sacrifice or have been wounded in battle while serving in the United States Armed Forces, and they did it for all of us (that includes you), we have served our country for over 100 years, and we win continue serving since a great number of Dominicans are actually part of United States Armed Forces.
On behalf all Dominicans in Osceola Contry and in the entire US, we formally demand an apology.
